What's the future hold for WorkRoll? Below is a list of features planned for future releases of WorkRoll. Please contact WorkRoll, or call WorkRoll (toll-free) at 877-247-4818, if one or more of these features would be particularly useful to you, or if there's a feature you'd like to see in WorkRoll that you don't see on this list. User feedback has been crucial to the continuing evolution of WorkRoll.

  • Enable customization of field names (for example, ability to rename "instance", "project", "version", and so on, application-wide)
  • Offer WorkRoll in languages other than English
  • Addition of a "depends-on" field (issues could be marked as depending on other issues to be completed)
  • Graphical reporting (current reporting on user and project status is text-based).
  • Ability to create issues that are recurring (automatic assignment of an issue to the same user, on a weekly or monthly basis, for example)
  • Ability to customize significant portions of text that appear in the UI
  • Ability to create issues that do not have a specific due-date
  • Per-installation branding (for example, ability to customize the look-and-feel of WorkRoll by adding a corporate logo and other design elements, and matching color scheme, to replace the defaults supplied by WorkRoll)
  • Storage of multiple issues-list filters
  • Customization of date formats (currently dates are generally formatted as mm/dd/yyyy, with the exception of exported issue lists, whose date formats are customizable)
  • History log for each issue: a brief, running summary of changes made to each issue and who made the changes
  • Disabling of fields not used in your installation (for example, the ability to disable the "instance" field if you do not use this field)
  • User-customizeable column widths for main list of issues
  • Allow for file-type conversions of image files attached to issues (for example, the ability to convert large TIFF files to smaller JPEG files)
  • Ability to reset the sequence of issue IDs to "1"
  • Option to automatically or manually sending a "thank-you" email to submitters of external feedback.
  • For external feedback feature, allow blocking of groups of IP addresses
  • Allow dynamic assignment of external feedback issues to different WorkRoll users based on different types of feedback (this is currently possible to a certain extent, by creating different feedback forms for different types of feedback)
